Spiced Up is our take of what will internationally be called a spiced rum. It is a botanical spiced rum blended from our award winning ID Golden Rum. But to make it different from our golden rum we sourced the finest African spices and herbs and distilled it with our white rum base. The combination of these two is a smooth sipping rum with interesting botanical flavours, also know as SPICED UP. Due to South African liquor laws, it is classified in South Africa as a Spirit Aperitif.
What can you expect from our Spiced Up African Botanical Spiced Rum?
Savour the notes of the indigenous South African Honeybush… Then see if you can taste vanilla – this is from the Zulu herb ‘Umondi’. The peppery notes are from another traditional African botanical called ‘Isibaha’ also known as the Pepperbark tree. All of these indigenous flavours are balanced with our complex golden rum aged in oak barrels. Packed with flavours of pineapple, citrus and caramel you will find that our premium barrel aged rum is exceptional! A Truly African Spiced Rum, consequently there’s currently not another product like this one on the market!
How should you enjoy it?
Smooth enough to drink neat, or on ice as you would a premium whiskey or a sipping rum. Or enjoy it with your favourite mixer. We just love it with Fitch & Leedes Craft Cola and a dash of lime juice or with Ginger Ale and a dash of Orange Bitters.

All the flavours and characteristics of the rum is obtained from botanicals we distill to extract the flavour. As a result from careful yeast selection and fermentation techniques, we have a flavourful complex rum. And lastly the final oak notes from barrel ageing intensify and completes our product.
