Magalies Lavender Gin: The popular choice
Lavender gins are met with skepticism as people are not use to it. Certainly a favourite ingredient for hygienic products and room spray. Likewise most people associate lavender items with overwhelming perfume scents. However our Magalies Lavender Gin is nothing like that… The reason for this lies in our distilling process. We extract soft herbal and earthy tones, instead of harsh perfume notes. Resulting in soft herbaceous earthy notes that compliments our citrus rich base Magalies classic gin. Most importantly, it is a gin that surprise and amaze gin lovers. Many of our clients leave the distillery with is as their gin of choice.
As confirmation that this is an exceptional gin. The judges of the 2019 SA Craft Gin awards presented Incendo Distillery with Double Gold medal for the Magalies Lavender Gin.
Made from 17 different botanicals. With lavender as the name suggest the main flavour. To create this gin, we firstly add hand harvested and peeled limes and lemons from the Magalies Valley. Secondly to balance the citrus flavours we add rose geranium. And lastly we add fresh lavender flowers grown in our own gardens. The result a beautiful looking gin with taste to match.
Lavender’s unique and distinctive flavour separates it from other species of mint (yes, can you believe it is part of the mint family). Tasting notes describe it as herbaceous, woody, minty undertone, earthy, smokey, apple-like and green.
